Gaasu is known as the Strawberry Village of Kashmir, with over 1200 families engaged in berry cultivation within the village.
A notable aspect of Gaasu village, situated on the outskirts of Srinagar in Jammu & Kashmir, is its abundance of fruit orchards and strawberry farms.
Thanks to its favorable climate, Gaasu has emerged as an ideal location for cultivating this delicate crop. While strawberries are also grown in Tangmarg in the north and in certain areas of South Kashmir, the fruit from Gaasu stands out for its larger size, exceptional taste, and juiciness.
If we talk about the harvesting season, it begins in May.
